911 Emergency

American Medical response (AMR) is the premier 911 provider in Kent, Ottawa and Allegan Counties and has served our communities since 1952. Greater than 70% of our ambulance call volume is 911 calls with the remainder being inter-facility transfers to include Critical Care Transport. All our ambulances are paramedic staffed and are equipped with the latest pre-hospital care equipment. We were the first EMS service, in these counties, to provide our patients with pre-hospital 12 lead EKG monitoring and interpretation. The first to incorporate the use of waveform capnography in assessment of endotracheal tube placement and ventilatory status.
Critical Care Transport

AMR-West Mi’s Critical Care Transport offers the most advanced technology and highly trained crews for patients who need the highest level of care. Critical Care Transport (CCT) focuses on patients who require emergent and non-emergent critical care, directed by specially trained and experienced Paramedics who are skilled in both adult and pediatric critical care.
Our goal is to provide continuity of emergent and critical care service to patients who have been treated in ICUs and emergency rooms. We recognize that the care of critically ill or injured patients requires skills that only trained and experienced Critical Care Paramedics can provide. Our CCT Paramedics participate in progressive training to ensure we are providing the latest medical treatments for the acutely ill patient.
Which patients warrant Critical Care Transport? Critical Care Transport may be necessary for any patient moving from one ICU to another, or leaving an emergency room for admission to an ICU. Critical Care Transport may be requested by any physician or registered nurse who determines that the patient is in critical condition, or has the potential for sudden deterioration, or warrants continuity of care by skilled Critical Care Paramedics. CCT may be warranted for patients who:
Have been aggressively resuscitated in the emergency room;
Have emergent or elective intubation;
Warrant early, goal-directed therapies;
Are post AMI, stroke or shock;
Have sustained spinal cord and/or brain injuries;
Require ventilator support, either acute or chronic;
Require multiple medications;
Are under sedation, are paralyzed or hemodynamically unstable;
Are high risk obstetric or pediatric patients.
Critical Care Transport equipment The CCT’s are equipped with LTV1200 transport ventilators, IV infusion pumps, EtCO2, 12 lead EKG, NIBP, and SpO2,. We also have the ability to initiate or monitor almost all ICU medications, including paralytics, cardiac infusions, thrombolytics and more.
Our Critical Care Paramedics have the ability to rapidly and efficiently assess, manage and transport the most critical of patients. Extensive training and education, and passionate patient care make AMR Critical Care Transport the optimum choice for your critically ill patient
