This Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider course is a 1 day course tailored to the advanced EMS provider. Lectures and cases will focus on emergency management of the cardiac and stroke patient. Non-EMS people are welcome to attend.

This Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) refresher course is a 1 day course designed for the advanced EMS provider and will provide them with updated information on the assessment and management of the cardiac and stroke patient. To be eligible for the refresher course the participant must be a current (60 day grace period) ACLS provider.
AHA PALS HeartCode Test-out
The test-out is offered to participants of the on line or computer simulation program called "HeartCode". For additional information on the HeartCode visit the Laerdal web site www.laerdal.com. Test-out times are scheduled on an individual basis. $65.00 per test-out.

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, bag-mask device, and oxygen), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of the foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

The Recertification Course is designed for the HCP who needs to renew their BLS-HCP card. To be eligible for the recertification course the participant must be a current (60 day grace period) BLS-HCP provider.

EMD
Emergency Medical Dispatch Training - Version 12.0
EMD training through the National Academy will help you master emergency medical dispatching on the front lines. You will learn how to handle difficult callers, identify the correct chief complaint, assign needed resources, effectively communicate between responders and callers, and provide life-saving support. This is hands-on training with real life examples, exciting audiovisual tools, and instructors who have spent years in EMS as dispatchers and responders. The initial course is 3 days in length.

EMS Instructor Coordinator Course
The Instructor Coordinator (I/C) course represents the didactic component and practical application of the education process to become an EMS I/C in Michigan. The content of this course has been designed to provide basic and advanced knowledge in the concepts of being an EMS educator.
The development of a professional EMS educator requires many components including; education in the aspects of the educational process, practical experience in teaching and mentoring by other members of an educational team to foster personal growth and development. This course establishes a solid foundation for individuals to excel in the EMS education profession.
The Instructor Coordinator (I/C) course represents the didactic component and practical application of the education process to become an EMS I/C in Michigan. The content of this course has been designed to provide basic and advanced knowledge in the concepts of being an EMS educator.

Prerequisites
- - Minimum three years of EMS field experience at the current EMS licensure level by the final exam date.
- - Written endorsement of two active, Michigan, EMS Instructor Coordinators.
- - CPR Instructor card by the course completion date.
- - Participation in the pre-enrollment interview process (similar to a job interview).
Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee acceptance into this course. A great deal of emphasis will be placed on the pre-enrollment interview.
